The general regalement for personal data protection (GDPR) is a law of the European Union, which came into effect on the 25th of May 2018. The goal of GDPR is to provide the citizens of the EU with control over their personal data and to change the way personal data is handled on a global scale.
The aim of GDPR is to protect the personal data which identifies a user (user’s personally identifying information – PII) and to enforce high standards on the business when it comes to how personal data is stored and used. Personal data includes names, emails, physical addresses, IP addresses, health information, income, etc..
